About Us

Viru Metallelement OÜ is located in a very favorable logistical location – in the Ahtme district of the City of Kohtla-Järve in East-Viru County, 150 km from Tallinn, 25 km from the Port of Sillamäe, and 50 km from the Estonia-Russia border.

The company, which has been operating since 2003, is the legal successor to the Ahtme Vagon OÜ, possesses a ISO 9001:2008 conformity certificate issued by the BVQI Bureau Veritas and is a member of the Estonian Machine Industry Association.

The reason for the name change that was made in 2006 was the wish to give clients a clearer signal that, in addition to manufacturing railway cars, we also deal with the construction of mechanical engineering metal structures as well as steel frames and structures for machines, and various conveyers.

We also deal with the manufacture of large-dimensioned construction-related metal structures, which include various load-bearing structures, such as posts, girders, frames, ties and other construction-related structures such as containers, frames and platforms.

The company’s territory includes 4.2 hectares and is equipped with several railway branch lines, which connect the factory to the Tallinn-St. Petersburg line and the Port of Sillamäe.

There is a total of 12,000 m2 of enclosed manufacturing space, which in turn is divided into five 2,400 m2 production sectors.

The technological production capacity is about 600 tons of steel structures per month and the potential exists to increase the production capacity to 800-1000 tons per month.
